Maurice Singfield - Oliver Klaus Interview
Oliver Klaus is an Eastern Townships based band that formed in 1969 and are considered to be an early “indie band” by its members. In this interview Maurice Singfield (Capt. Moze) engages our readers by exploring his early youth when he first became aware of music by The Beatles like most kids of that generation did as well as his early band Les Notables prior to Oliver Klaus. Singfield also speaks on the early days of the band, writing and recording their groundbreaking debut LP and much much more!
John Durzo - Strongbow Interview
Born and raised in Columbus, OH, Durzo grew up with a very typical childhood for that time, but his life forever changed when he heard the likes of Johnny and the Hurricanes’ “Red River Rock” and Jan and Dean’s “Baby Talk” on the radio. He immediately had to be in a band and hasn’t looked back! Prior to going the Strongbow guys he participated in bands such as Johnny and the Rebels and St. John’s Mod. Durzo would eventually join Strongbow in ‘73, performing on the group’s only album that was released in ‘75 and would play with them until that following year before the group disbanded. Over the years Durzo has played with the likes of The Muff Bros, Money, Slamm, Roi Blu, Little Thugs and the great JD Blackfoot, just to name a few. In this interview we explore Durzo’s youth growing up in one of the most rocking’ states in the whole country - Ohio, playing in early garage rock outfits, joining Strongbow and recorded the band’s lone LP and much more!
Robert Slap - The Tidal Waves Interview
Award winning composer, arranger, engineer and producer, Robert Slap is a native of Detroit, Michigan. His music spans a wide spectrum of styles that include R&B, Rock, Soul/Funk, Jazz, New Age, Latin, World, and Film music. His career kicked off in 1966 with the release of the garage band rocker, "Farmer John" recorded with the Tidal Waves. Signing with Hanna Barbera Records, Slap toured with many of the 60's great acts, including the Dave Clark Five, the Animals, Butterfield Blues Band, Herman's Hermits, Dobie Grey, MC5, Bob Seger, Mitch Ryder and later with Alice Cooper, Van Halen and many more. He continued his work as a session and touring guitarist with the Magic Tones, David Ruffin and the Drifters. He relocated to Los Angeles in the '70's to pursue his passion, working with a young Detroit songwriter, John Angelos, and reforming the Detroit based group "Mighty Quick". He also worked with Dennis "Machine Gun" Thompson (MC5) with the group "Secrets", releasing a few records, but finding no audience.
In 1982 the hand of fate crossed his path and Robert joined Valley of the Sun Publishing in Malibu, CA. working as music director and producer for the "New Age" label until 1993. It was during these years Slap expanded his vision of music and tonalities, and mastering the craft of recording and producing records. He has over 40 album credits with various artists during that period. In the 90's he produced a series of recordings for Great American Audio including a line of aerobic exercise music and the popular "Music for Relaxation" series. He also had music featured on the Leeza Gibbons show and several other cable network series. Slap’s music has been featured on radio, broadcast TV shows, movie soundtrack/trailers, videos and documentaries. Currently, Robert writes and licenses his music through GMP Music Library, Bongo Boy Records and the NUMERO GROUP, wich is currently releasing a retrospective of his recording catalog from 1983 -1996. In 2022, Intercontinental Music Awards honored Robert with "Best Production" for his recording of "Why can't we live together?". He is a current voting member of NARAS and continues to search for new artists and music to explore with.

Mike Messer - Wilson McKinley Interview
Born in Wisconsin before locating to Spokane, WA where he would later meet his future bandmates of the very influential “Christian Rock” group Wilson McKinley. Prior to joining the band, Messer participated in groups such as Merchants and The City Council before joining Wilson McKinley towards the end of the summer of love in ‘67. Messer’s youth was influenced by the likes of Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee and many others. In this interview we explore the influentials bands writing and receding process, the overall vision the band hand for its music, the elements of religion coexisting with a rather drug fueled, war driven decades and much more!
